Help Liam raise funds for Movember

If you’re wondering why there are some odd-looking mustaches around and thinking that maybe you’ve stepped back in time to the 80’s fear not it’s Movember again.

Again, this Movember for the 9th year, Liam Culverhouse has taken up the challenge and as in years past, he is again looking quite boyish until his facial hair grows back. Liam has raised over $9,000 in total since 2010.

Movember is about encouraging men to talk about their health issues and raising much-needed funds.

Liam has had friends and family members who have experienced men’s health issues first hand this makes him a very passionate advocate for Movember.

Movember is held every November and raises funds for research on prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health awareness, and suicide prevention. Movember has changed the way men’s health is treated and talked about. 45 men die from prostate cancer every hour. Testicular cancer is the most common cancer in men under 40 and every minute a man dies from suicide. The good news is that Movember is making a difference in men’s lives.

Movember is the only solely focused on men’s health charity that is global. The idea of the no-shave is to grow awareness by embracing our hair, which many cancer patients lose, and letting it grow wild and free. The idea is to donate the money you would typically spend on shaving and grooming to educated about cancer prevention, save lives and aid those fighting the battle.

The Movember Foundation is ranked 49th out of the top 500 non-governmental organisations in the world and they have funded over 1200 men’s health projects since inception in 2003. They are working towards halving the number of deaths from prostate and testicular cancer by 2030. Movember runs for November 1 – 30 every year, though you can donate all year. If you’re keen to get involved there are many events happening and it’s easy to find one near you via this link

Liam is conservatively aiming at raising $1,000 (he’s already at $610 so he only needs a little help to get him to his goal) for Movember let’s see if we can help this dedicated local along. All donations over $2 are fully tax deductible and you’ll feel good helping providing much-needed funding for men’s health projects.
